Random Cool Stats

broncos bust out in 4th

A 4th quarter comeback John Elway would be proud of. Broncos scored the most 4th quarter points in NFL history of any team that was shutout going to final 15 minutes.

Since 1970 there has only been six instances where a team has scored 30+ points in the 4th quarter of a game (Broncos also in 2013 vs WSH). Only once prior did a team overcome a 19+ deficit to win, Jets vs MIA (Oct 23, 2000). Jets were down 30-7 going to 4th and won in OT.

Jays Love seattle

Blue Jays are 5-0 in Seattle this season. And have won 7 straight (Back to 2024), in the PNW. Interesting, if Blue Jays and Mariners go to a game 7, we will have 6 straight days of TOR vs SEA as Kraken are at Leafs Saturday (ALCS off day). Blue Jays have scored 42 runs in their 5 wins in Seattle this season, with a +29 run differential. Thanks BC fans.

Vladdi on the road in playoffs is hitting .529 (9/17).

yankees lit up

Yankees had never given up 23 runs in back2back playoff games in franchise history. They had never allowed double digit runs against in two straight playoff games before. Prior to the weekend the NYY last allowed 10+ runs in a post-season game in 2018, 16 vs BOS.

bengals at broncos

Sorry, I know it's a MNF twin-bill, let's be honest, nobody cares about Jets and Phish. Write that down.

Bengals 75P against last 2GP. Browning has played in 10 career NFL games where he's had 10 pass attempts or more, he's thrown 12INT's in those games, including 5 picks in 2 games this season. Broncos have won 6 straight at home, 28+Pts in 5 of the games, +119 points differential in the 6 games.

santander activated by blue jays

Anthony Santander is active wit the Blue Jays. He last played May 29. Jays were 24-26 this season with Santander earning a participant ribbon. The turnaround began in Toronto when he went on IL. Let's hope he's done with putting the IL in ILL. His last home run was May 20th. He was 0/17 in his last AB's before IL. In 130 career Sept games, he has 26HR's and 73RBI's.

Bernie Parent

bernard marcel parent 1945-2025

Does everybody remember for two seasons in Toronto the Leafs goaltending tandem was Jacques Plante and Bernie Parent? Parent was traded to Toronto because the Flyers thought Doug Favell was going to be their number 1. Parent left the Leafs for the WHA (Miami) who didn't even have an arena. Parent ended up back in Philly with the Blazers of the WHA. Toronto traded Bernie back to the Flyers. Then he went on to win two Vezina's and two Conn Smythe's. HHOF inducted in 1984. RIP.

devil of a devers

Since the trade between BoSox and Giants on June 15th. Each team has gone in a different direction. SFG third worst record in baseball 24-38 (.387). Red Sox the complete opposite, third best 38-24 (.613). (Thursday game pending).

Blue jays were the mountain in the rockies

Blue Jays hit .453, with an .856SLG in series vs COL. Their home runs, 13, almost were equal with their K's, 15. TOR had 28 extra base hits in series. COL had 20 hits. Ernie Clement led the way in avg. 9/18, .500

The 2025 Var-show

Daulton Varsho has only played in 28 games this season. The gold glover, is making noise with his bat.

Varsho this season 24 Hits 11 Home Runs 6 Doubles 6 Singles 1 Triple.

Only player in MLB with at least 11 home runs and played fewer than 55 games.

Bronco Busting

It's hard to believe or is it? The is the first time since 2013 and 2014 (Peyton Manning and John Fox) The Broncos have a returning Head Coach and QB. Gary Kubiak was Denver's bench boss in 2015 on the way to Super Bowl 50. Since then they've used 13 different QB's (including Nix). And 6 different Head Coaches.

Let's play two

July 17, 1989 at the Skydome in Toronto. A rare Monday double header. Jays took both ends of it from the Angels 6-4 and 5-4. David Wells won both games and Tom Henke saved both. Jim Abbott went the distance for the halo's in the opener. Todd Stottlemyre started for Toronto. In the night cap. Fred McGriff hit a three run homer off Angels starter Dan Petry in the bottom of the 1st.. After Jays starter Steve Cummings gave up a two spot in the top of the inning.

RIP Gentle Jim Clancy

Very sad news about Jim Clancy. An original Blue Jay (77-88). 128-140 with Toronto. Sept 28/82 he had a perfect game into the 9th inning. Gave up a lead off hit. Clancy outdueled Frank Viola that day. 3-0. Both complete games. @JesseBarfield29 Willie Upshaw and yes, Garth Iorg with solo home runs. RIP Mr. Clancy.

scherzer for the win

If Scherzer beats the A's tonight. They will be the 24th team he's won at least 5 times against. And this would be the 32nd different ballpark he has won at.
